Use & Care: Enameled Cast Iron Cookware
BEFORE FIRST USE
Remove any stickers or tags. Rinse with warm, soapy water and towel dry completely.
OVEN INSTRUCTIONS
Oven safe up to 480°F. Tempered glass lids are 350°F. Do not microwave. Safe to use on gas, electric, ceramic, and halogen stovetops. Always place hot pans such as a heat-resistant surface such as a trivet.
HANDLE PRECAUTIONS
Handles may get hot during use. Use potholders or oven mitts when handling cookware. Long cooking times or very high temperatures may cause the handles to become too hot. Shorter handles, because of their length, may become too hot to handle. Always follow proper safety procedures when making food on the stovetop or in the oven.
UTENSIL USE PRECAUTION
To protect the lifespan of the cookware's nonstick coating, only use silicone, nylon, or wooden utensils while cooking. Metal utensils, sharp tools, or electrical devices should not be used as they could damage the nonstick coating.
CARE AND CLEANING
Hand wash recommended. Allow cookware to cool fully before being washed. Do not submerge hot cookware in cold water. Burned grease or food residue can usually be removed by washing with warm water and mild detergent. Tougher, baked-on residue can be removed by cleaning with a solution of 1 tablespoon liquid dish detergent, 3 tablespoons bleach and 1 cup of water. Rub this mixture into the surface with a sponge or soft-bristled brush, rinse and towel dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners, coarse scouring pads, or caustic cleaning solutions. After cleaning, recondition the interior by wiping a light layer of cooking oil onto the surface. Place a protective sheet between your pots and pans to minimize wear and tear during storage. Drops onto hard surfaces may chip or break cookware.
COOKWARE USE INSTRUCTIONS
Always put oil, water, or some type of food inside the cookware prior to heating it for cooking. Do not cook or boil dry. Do not overheat empty cookware. Allow your cookware to cool down before immersing it in water. While the internally reinforced nonstick surface is designed to withstand rough treatment, all nonstick surfaces will last longer if you cut food on a cutting board instead of inside the cookware. Do not overheat empty cookware.
